The Washington Post reported that British police detained the seventh suspect on Tuesday in connection with an extensive investigation into a suspicious plot backed by Tehran to attack an airbase that hosts American bombers.

According to the report, “A 22-year-old British national in London was arrested on suspicion of planning to carry out a terrorist act.”

Citing two informed individuals and a British official—who all spoke on condition of anonymity about sensitive military matters—The Washington Post wrote that Pentagon officials, on Sunday, after receiving several intelligence reports about the possibility of an attack, suddenly moved a fleet of about 12 long-range “B-1” bombers out of the Royal Air Force base at RAF Fairford, about 120 kilometers northwest of London.
