🔺Peزشکیان claims he signed the Hormuz agreement with Oman in the presence of Arab countries
▪ The head of the government of the Islamic Republic claimed that on Monday, Iranian and Persian Gulf Arab officials would sign an agreement in Muscat to create a joint shipping route between Iran and Oman in the Strait of Hormuz.
▪ Masoud Pezeshkian said: “Countries whose soil was used by the United States to attack us will also be present at this meeting.”
▪ Washington is opposed to the bilateral arrangement. Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said on Fox News last month: “If Oman gets in the way, we’ll bomb them.”
▪ The United States opposes granting the Islamic Republic control over transit in the strait or allowing it to collect fees from vessels. The European Union and Japan have also opposed a unilateral or bilateral arrangement in this regard.
