Israeli Channel 12 reports a unit called “Section 4000” in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps

Israeli Channel 12 reported that a unit known as “Section 4000” in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has, over the past months, carried out covert operations to plan attacks on Israeli and American targets in the Middle East and beyond.

According to this report, the unit recruits and trains personnel in the Islamic Republic and creates cover infrastructure in different countries to plan attacks with explosive and suicide drones. As Channel 12 wrote, the targets of these operations have included strategic facilities in Israel as well as U.S. military bases and alliance forces in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus.

Channel 12 also reported that “Section 4000,” as part of a plan to target Donald Trump, the President of the United States, had a role during a NATO summit in Turkey, and that the plan was thwarted in cooperation with Israeli intelligence entities.

According to Channel 12, the unit uses front companies, smuggling networks, civilian infrastructure, and local agents to conceal the Islamic Republic’s role, and it cooperates with the IRGC Quds Force’s Unit 840 in transferring drones and equipment via the route through Syria and Jordan.
