🔻Ismail Baghaei said, regarding a draft resolution by European countries at the International Atomic Energy Agency that could potentially send Iran’s nuclear case to the UN Security Council, that if this resolution is approved, Iran will take reciprocal action.
In response to the resolution, Mr. Baghaei said it appears that “whenever European countries fall short in other areas, they move on to a nuclear file; or, alternatively, they present their own misuse of the IAEA Director General to exert political pressure on Iran.”
He said this action demonstrates the legal position of Iran, China, and Russia that “snapback” is unlawful and cannot be applied.
He called the preparation of this draft resolution a “repetition of a harmful path” and said that the three European countries, in relation to Iran’s nuclear case, have been “pushed aside.”
Mr. Baghaei emphasized that due to the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the “closed path” has been created and there is no possibility for inspections by the Agency.
