An IranWire citizen journalist, by sending an audio file, compared the bonuses for the Iranian national team footballers at the World Cup with the wages of workers in Iran. According to this comparison, the bonus that the Iranian footballers—also for being eliminated in the first stage of the World Cup—receive from the government is equivalent to 25 years of work by workers in Iran.
