“Iranian Writers Association” on Thursday, 12 Shahrivar 1405, in a statement, while condemning the issuance and implementation of death sentences in Iran, wrote that the Islamic Republic, which uses the death penalty to suppress opponents and create fear in society.

The writers of this statement criticized the judicial process in cases leading to execution and wrote that some of these rulings are issued based on “the knowledge of the judge” and confessions, which raise serious doubts about how they are obtained and their validity.
