🔶 Iran’s Ministry of Defense: We Have the Capability to Target U.S. Navy Ships

The acting head of the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic said Iran’s military forces have the capability to target U.S. warships participating in economic and naval blockade operations.

Majid Ibn al-Ridha, on Monday, 16 Shahrivar, said about Tehran’s ability to counter ships in an operation of blockade, claiming: “Rest assured that we have this capability, and God willing, you will see its results.”

These remarks are made while previously Mohsen Rezai, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, on Sunday had also claimed that Iranian military forces had, for the first time, tested an “Iranian anti-destroyer missile” over an American warship.

On the other side, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), although it did not provide a direct reaction to the claim of missile firing, implicitly referred to these confrontations by posting a warning message on the X platform.

In its message to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, CENTCOM wrote: “If you fire at our two ships, we will impose on you a much heavier economic cost and we will destroy three of your ships.”
