🔻Iran reports an attack on an oil tanker off the coast of Jask

Iranian news agencies reported the targeting of a “commercial vessel” off the coast of Jask and, at the same time, claimed that the sound of an explosion was heard in Jordan.

The report that an explosion could be heard near the shores of Jask was first published at around 10 p.m. local time by Fars News Agency—affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps—and is now being reported by IRIB (the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) as the targeting of this oil tanker near the waters of this coastal city in southern Iran.

IRIB blamed American forces for this attack and, while it had initially reported an attack on a second tanker near Kharg Island, shortly thereafter it “denied” the targeting of the second tanker.
