The International Atomic Energy Agency said North Korea has built new uranium enrichment facilities at the Yongbyon nuclear complex that could accommodate up to 28 cascades of centrifuges.
Based on the agency’s report, Pyongyang has also started operating an expanded auxiliary section at the Kangson enrichment site.
Rafael Grossi, the agency’s director general, said that expanding the production of nuclear material at the weapons level is “a matter of serious concern.”
North Korea has repeatedly rejected the agency’s authority in this area.
