Videos released from the scene show massive flames and thick smoke rising from the “Na Laad Praw” bar building in northern Bangkok. In these images, people are seen trying to escape the building.

Thai officials said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. According to Chadchart Sittipunt, governor of Bangkok, investigators will check the condition of the building’s roof and the likelihood that emergency exits may have been blocked.

According to a statement by the local government, the fire began shortly before midnight on Sunday. On Monday morning, police forces and forensic experts arrived at the scene to investigate the cause of the incident.
