🔺Exclusive to Voice of America: Iran’s oil sales have fallen to one quarter of March levels
▪Data from Kpler, provided to Voice of America, shows that the unloading of Iran’s oil in Chinese ports has fallen to one quarter of March levels.
▪In July, Chinese refineries purchased an average of 454,000 barrels of Iran’s oil per day. That figure was 1,716,000 barrels in the first month of the war.
▪In this regard, Hamayun Falakshahi, senior oil analyst at Kpler, told Voice of America that the Islamic Republic sells its oil with deep discounts and through intermediaries to small, independent Chinese refineries, and that it currently has about 130 to 140 million barrels of oil in storage at sea, of which 95 to 97 million barrels are outside the U.S. embargo line and in Asian waters.
