🔸The Houthis in Yemen, on Saturday morning, 3 Mordad, hours after Saudi Arabia, in response to the group’s attacks on Saudi ships, targeted their positions, reported a missile attack on Saudi Arabia.

🔸The attacks took place days after the Iran-backed Houthis announced a “naval blockade” against Saudi Arabia, and then also attacked two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.

🔸Houthi-affiliated “Ansarullah” media said early Saturday that a “missile attack” caused a fire in the city of Jizan, in southern Saudi Arabia, and along the Red Sea coast.

🔸Saudi Arabia has not yet confirmed the claim, but the country’s civil defense organization early Saturday briefly warned residents of Jizan and Yanbu about a “possible danger,” and then a few minutes later canceled the warnings.

🔸In the past, similar warnings have also been issued when missiles or drones were fired at Saudi Arabia.

🔸The alleged Houthi attack came after the coalition led by Saudi Arabia on Friday announced that it had targeted the group’s military positions in Yemen and destroyed the targets that were used to threaten commercial ships.

🔸A Yemeni security source told AFP that a naval base in the port city of Hodeidah, a military camp on Kamaran Island, a telecommunications building near the port of Hodeidah, and a naval base at Ras al-Kthib were among the targets of Saudi Arabia’s attacks.

🔸The Houthis called the Saudi attacks “a dangerous escalation” and warned that Riyadh’s actions “will not go unanswered.”
