The EU foreign policy chief said the bloc is looking to send a clear message: the Strait of Hormuz must be opened, freedom of navigation must be respected, and no party should set tolls or charges for the passage of ships.
Kaja Kallas said on Monday, 22 Tir, in Brussels, ahead of the start of a meeting of the EU Council of Foreign Ministers, that foreign ministers will, during a meeting with representatives of Gulf Arab countries, review the security situation in the region and ways to prevent the war from escalating.
Kallas emphasized that the existing understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic is fragile.
