Eiman Aghayari, a political analyst, told Iran International that a naval blockade of Iran’s ports is one of the most important tools the United States uses to pressure the Islamic Republic, but on its own it is not enough to achieve Washington’s objectives. According to him, the continuation of economic pressures and the possibility of the expansion of military actions could push the Islamic Republic further toward mediation and negotiations.
