🔶 Behrouz Asadi called on Germany to take immediate action to halt the execution of Ali Zarei
Behrouz Asadi, a human rights activist and spokesperson for “Woman, Life, Freedom Germany,” sent an official letter to the German government calling on it to act immediately to prevent the execution of Ali Zarei Dozdarasei.
According to reports by the Human Rights Organization of Iran (HRANA) and other media, Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Ali Zarei to death on the charge of “corruption on earth,” and the verdict was communicated to him on August 23, 2026.
During the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests in Mehr 1401, Zarei lost his right eye after security forces fired shots. He was then admitted to Germany under Article 22(2) of the German Residence Act and received treatment; however, after returning to Iran, he was detained on May 8 of this year and ultimately transferred to Evin Prison.
Behrouz Asadi, a human rights activist and follower of the situation of this political prisoner, told Deutsche Welle that in his letter he requested guarantees for Ali Zarei’s access to an independent lawyer, appropriate medical services, and the possibility of contacting his family.
