Yisrael Katz: If it attacks Israel, we will send Iran back to the Stone Age
🔸 Israel’s defense minister says the pressure stemming from Iran’s economic sanctions could push Tehran toward taking “extreme measures.”
🔸 Yisrael Katz said on Thursday, 12 Shahrivar, at a ceremony held for employees of the Ministry of Defense, while emphasizing the effectiveness of the United States’ economic pressure on Iran, that there are signs indicating that “heavy economic pressure on the one hand and fear of another popular uprising and the fall of the regime on the other may force Tehran to adopt decisions out of necessity.”
🔸 The defense minister warned Iran that if it attacks this country, it will face a “heavy and widespread” response.
🔸 He said: “We will target all of Iran’s military and civilian infrastructure, including this country’s energy infrastructure, and we will send it back to the Stone Age and the era of darkness.”
🔸 Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had used the term against Iran during the 40-day war and said, “We are sending them back to the Stone Age, the same era they belong to.”
🔸 Katz emphasized that “a possible Iranian attack on Israel will free this country from any constraints in giving a devastating response to Iran.”
🔸 In his speech, this Israeli minister repeated his threats against Iran from recent months with increased intensity.
🔸 Referring to Israel’s last year’s attacks during the 12-day war with Iran, he said: “The mullahs’ regime knows very well why it should not carry out an attack on Israel; especially considering what we brought upon their nuclear program and strategic capabilities in the previous two attacks, and we killed their leader, Ali Khamenei.”
🔸 In recent months, and in reaction to U.S. attacks, Iran has attacked this country’s military positions on the edges of the Persian Gulf and in Jordan—Israel’s eastern neighbor—but has avoided targeting Israel itself.
