WION reported that representatives of several Middle Eastern countries held closed-door talks

WION reported that representatives of several Middle Eastern countries, in closed-door discussions during the fourth “MIDE” conference in Washington, believed that the end of the Islamic Republic’s rule would benefit the region, but they assessed that achieving such a result is not definite and would take time.

The fourth “MIDE” conference was held in Washington with the participation of officials and representatives from 24 countries.

According to WION’s report, the assessments raised at this conference indicate that the Islamic Republic has been severely weakened, but the collapse of the government is not considered imminent, and this process may take between one and three years.

WION wrote that the state of Iran’s economy was assessed as dire at the meeting, and participants spoke about a sharp decline in the value of the rial, high inflation, and the government’s problems in paying the salaries of public-sector employees. It also raised signs of a rift in the political and military structure of the Islamic Republic.

At the same meeting, it was also estimated that about 80% of Iranians are opposed to the government.

In another section of the report, WION wrote that Majtaba Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, has gathered around him a number of the most hardline figures in the Islamic Republic’s structure amid an atmosphere of increasing concern about the survival of the government.
