In response to a question from Iran International about the issuance of visas, the U.S. Department of State announced that the Donald Trump administration protects the country and its citizens by applying the highest standards of national security and public safety in the visa issuance process.

The ministry added: “We are earnestly committed to fulfilling our obligations under the Headquarters Agreement of the United Nations.”

The U.S. State Department further said: “As the host country of the United Nations, we have provided guidance to all member states regarding the recommended timelines for applying for visas, before the start of the eighty-first session of the United Nations General Assembly.”

The Foreign Missions Act gives the U.S. Secretary of State the authority to impose restrictions on the travel and movement of members of foreign missions in the United States.

In the U.S. State Department’s response to Iran International, it was not specified for which officials of the Islamic Republic visas were issued, what restrictions might be imposed on the Islamic Republic delegation, or whether Washington has made a decision to limit travel by members of this delegation to attend the UN General Assembly in New York. htt
