🔻US Central Command (CENTCOM) announces the end of Tuesday night airstrikes
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces have completed a series of strikes against “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) positions.”
According to CENTCOM, the targets of these strikes included “air defense systems, radar systems, equipment and maritime capabilities, facilities related to naval mine-laying, and communication sites.”
CENTCOM said the strikes were carried out in response to recent efforts by the IRGC to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and to attacks against U.S. forces.
CENTCOM’s statement did not publish details about the exact locations of the targets, or the extent of damage or any possible casualties. At the same time, Iranian officials reported that at least 5 civilians were killed during one of these airstrikes that hit the village of Kuhestak in Sīrīk, and said they had responded to the American strikes.
