🔶 US and UK plan to hold a meeting on the Strait of Hormuz

The United States and the United Kingdom are preparing and planning to hold a high-level meeting in London to discuss the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The meeting is expected to be held next week.

A U.S. official, in an interview with the German news agency, confirmed the holding of the meeting.

No information has yet been provided about the agenda, the exact date of the meeting, or the participants.

The news website “Axios” had previously reported that the planned meeting in the British capital would likely address the formation of an international coalition to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Axios wrote, citing European diplomats, that the ministers of defense and senior military commanders from Western and regional countries are expected to attend the meeting.

The report also said that Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense (War), and Dan Kin, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Army, may also participate in the meeting.
