The UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization said a vessel in waters off Oman had caught fire.

Based on a warning from the organization, a report of the incident was received on Sunday night by military authorities, and the cause of the fire has not been confirmed so far. The organization advised ships to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity.

The location of the incident was reported as the northernmost point of the Musandam Peninsula in Oman and at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had previously claimed in a statement that two oil tankers attempting to enter the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz had exploded late last night.

According to the IRGC public relations announcement, the two oil tankers were “coerced and compelled” by the U.S. Army to enter this route. In the statement, the names of the ships, their nationality, and the condition of the crew were not mentioned.

In the same announcement, the IRGC said that as long as the United States’ attacks in the region continue, this route would not be safe for “even a drop of oil and gas,” and the U.S. Army should be prepared for “punitive operations.”
