🔻The U.S. Department of the Treasury said on Friday it has imposed new sanctions on a Turkish bank over what it described as “links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.” The move is part of Washington’s renewed efforts to economically isolate Tehran.

In a statement, Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, said: “Financial institutions pay a heavy price for realizing that we are fully serious about carrying out economic exclusion operations. Although we hope that there will be no need for additional sanctions against more banks, this ultimately depends on how quickly the international community wakes up and stops supporting the killing regime in Iran.”
