👉The U.S. has sanctioned 28 Iranian airlines. On Tuesday, 17 Shahrivar, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control added 28 Iranian airlines, 7 companies associated with the aviation sector, and an Egyptian national residing in the United Arab Emirates to the sanctions list.
Among the sanctioned companies are Ata, Chabahar, Iran Air Tour, Asman, Kish, Karoon, Qeshm, Sepehran, Taban, Zagros, Varsh, and Fly Persia. In addition, several companies in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan were sanctioned due to their connection to Mahan Air or networks associated with it.
The U.S. also suspended Iran’s General License G-1 for the temporary re-export of certain non-military aircraft to Iran, and simultaneously issued new licenses to wind down some transactions related to civilian aviation.
