The Washington Post reported that Gulf countries, alongside the continuation of the war between the United States and Iran, are strengthening their defensive capabilities and creating alternative routes to reduce dependence on the Strait of Hormuz. Officials in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar said that relying on U.S. security support is not sufficient and that countries in the region should develop more independent defensive capabilities.
