The Wailing Wall is a historic point of connection between the Iranian and Jewish peoples. This wall is the only remaining remnant of the Temple of Solomon, which was destroyed twice over the course of history. First, in 586 BCE by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who took the Jews from Jerusalem into captivity in Babylon. Seventy years later, the Jews were freed by Cyrus the Great, who granted them the right to return to Jerusalem and to rebuild the Temple of Solomon.
But the Second Temple was also destroyed by the Romans and set on fire. The Wailing Wall is the only remaining remnant of the Temple.
Today, Jews around the world commemorate the destruction of the Temple and the enslavement of the Jewish people.
