🔶 The U.S. sanctions Ali Anasari and the “financial network of Mojtaba Khamenei”
The U.S. Treasury Department said it has placed Ali Anasari, the former owner and manager of the dissolved Future Bank, a company under his control, three Iranian exchange houses, seven managers and partners of these exchange houses, and two shell companies based in Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates on its sanctions list.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Treasury Department announced on Friday, July 10 (19 Tir), that these sanctions were imposed after the resumption of Iran’s attacks on international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the ministry’s statement, Ali Anasari oversaw a broad network of assets and financial interests in several countries, which, according to Washington, included some that were kept for the benefit of Mojtaba Khamenei, his family, a number of senior officials of the Islamic Republic, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
