PepsiCo said on Monday it is widening its sustainability commitments with new 2030 targets for packaging and agriculture. The company said it aims for all major markets to use packaging that is reusable, recyclable or compostable, while also pushing deeper investments in farming practices designed to improve soil health.

The food and beverage maker also announced a $200 million fund intended to help scale regenerative agriculture across its supply chain. PepsiCo said the money will support work with 500,000 farmers worldwide, part of a broader effort to cut environmental impact and strengthen long-term crop resilience.

The announcement came at the company’s ESG summit and reflects growing pressure on major consumer brands to show measurable progress on waste reduction and climate-related supply chain risks. Packaging remains a major challenge for global food companies as regulators, investors and consumers increasingly demand lower-plastic and more circular systems.

PepsiCo’s latest plan adds to a wave of corporate sustainability pledges that are being judged less by ambition than by execution. The key test now will be whether the company can deliver across diverse markets and farming regions while keeping pace with changing rules, costs and supply chain realities.
