Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, said Washington will continue to increase economic pressure on the Islamic Republic and that sanctions and delays in paying salaries have increased pressure on officials and government forces.

He said what is happening in the Islamic Republic is a matter of time and that the government is “going through the final stages of its existence.”
