🔺 Rubio: The U.S. is committed to diplomacy, but the Islamic Republic is not serious about talks
◾ Marko Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, spoke on Wednesday at a meeting of the ASEAN foreign ministers in Manila about the war with the Islamic Republic and emphasized Washington’s readiness to negotiate.
◾ He said, “The United States is always committed to diplomacy; we are open-minded and always ready for engagement, negotiation, and resolving differences.” His remarks came at the same time as the eleventh consecutive night of U.S. attacks on targets of the Islamic Republic’s military system.
◾ Rubio stressed that the main problem is a lack of seriousness on the other side. According to Rubio, “Our problem right now is that they are not serious about negotiations. If they are serious, then we are serious as well; if they are not, then we will do whatever is necessary to protect our interests and those of our allies.”
