⏺Prince Reza Pahlavi on the price of gasoline:

Fellow countrymen, The Islamic Republic has once again put the cost of its incompetence, corruption, and war-mongering on the shoulders of the Iranian people by raising gasoline prices. As I said in my message of 31 Mordad, raising fuel prices while people are under severe economic pressure is a cruel act and betrayal of the Iranian nation. To the usurping regime and its missing leader, I say: the poverty and economic pressure you have imposed on the people of Iran are the direct result of your own destructive policies. The resources of this country belong to the Iranian people—not to fill the pockets of mafias, and not to finance terrorism and war-mongering. Return the plundered property of the people and stop supporting terrorists. Don’t think that by massacring tens of thousands of patriotic compatriots you have been able to break the will of the people. The flames of the people’s anger and protests have not yet gone out. A nation that stands for freedom, prosperity, and a better future will not stay silent in the face of repression, corruption, incompetence, and the imposition of poverty. Long live Iran, Reza Pahlavi
