Mizan News Agency, affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Republic judiciary, announced that Mohammad Amini Dehghani, one of the protesters detained in Dey 1404, was executed in the early hours of Wednesday, Tir 24, after the death sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
Iran’s Islamic Republic judiciary claims that Mr. Dehghani was accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at the Dehghān County governorate building and the police station in Isfahan Province, taking part in setting fire to government buildings, and inciting people present to attack law enforcement forces.
Judicial officials have also claimed that the evidence in the case was based on CCTV camera images and the defendant’s confessions.
So far, Iran’s Islamic Republic judiciary has not published evidence regarding how the trial was conducted and the confessions of this citizen, and information about Mr. Dehghani’s defense and any potential lawyer acting on his behalf is not available.
