🔺Major discrepancy in estimates of Middle East oil exports

▪Bloomberg news agency has reported that attacks by the Islamic Republic and the Houthis on tankers carrying Saudi Arabia’s oil have caused Saudi Arabia’s “observable” oil exports to reach 3 million barrels per day, the lowest level in the past 9 years.

▪This report includes only figures for tankers that have been observable and trackable.

▪The report says that last month, on average per day, 800,000 barrels of Saudi oil were shipped from the Strait of Hormuz and 2.25 million barrels from Yanbu port in the Red Sea to global markets.

▪However, U.S. officials say that a vast portion of the oil of the Arab countries of the region is shipped secretly, in the dark of night, by turning off the ships’ automatic identification system.
