Joe Wilson, a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, wrote on the X social network that approving the U.S. national defense authorization bill sends the message that the United States is ready for any “hostile action” by the Islamic Republic and other enemies.

The U.S. House of Representatives had previously passed a defense and national security budget package that Republicans describe as necessary to maintain the readiness of the armed forces and to counter security threats, including the Islamic Republic.
