🔻Iran Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee, in a ruling that Iranian sports media describe as “severe,” has banned Khodadad Azizi, the head of the football team of Tractor, from attending the stadium for four months due to insults and using crude and obscene language toward Omid Alishah, and has also sentenced the former Iran national team player to pay a 2 billion toman fine.

The Disciplinary Committee has also sentenced Omid Alishah, a player for Gol Gohar, to a 500 million toman fine and banned him from four matches.

The incident began after last week’s Gol Gohar vs. Tractor match held in Tabriz, when an audio file was released on social media in which Khodadad Azizi could be heard using crude language and making sexual and honor-related insults toward Omid Alishah.

The release of this audio file quickly sparked a new controversy in Iran’s football scene, and many media outlets, coaches, and top figures in football took a stance on it and called for action against it.
