Hosein Aghai, a member of the editorial staff of Iran International, said that the Islamic Republic and the United States are currently trying to remain in a situation of “below the threshold of full-scale war.”

He added that Tehran is using time to open new fronts and strengthen its military capabilities, but continued economic and sanctions pressures could turn this time against the Islamic Republic.
