🔶 Government spokesperson: A change in fuel rationing or the gasoline price is certain

Fatemeh Moghajerani, the government spokesperson for Masoud Pezeshkian, said on Saturday, 3 Mordad (25 July) that adopting measures to manage gasoline consumption is “definite and certain.” She added that any decision regarding a change in fuel rationing or the gasoline price will be announced to the public, after review, “with care, transparency, clarity, and honesty.”

Moghajerani, on the sidelines of a commemoration ceremony for the slain leader of the Islamic Republic at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, said the government provides gasoline to people at a subsidized price, and therefore, in order to balance gasoline consumption and supply, a solution must be adopted.

Regarding the possibility of a change in fuel rationing or the gasoline price, she said that if a decision is made in this regard, it will be communicated to the public, as in previous cases.

At the same time, Mohammad-Sadegh Azhimi-Far, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Company, said that if high consumption continues and production and gasoline import restrictions due to damage to facilities during the 40-day war remain in place, decisions may be made to maintain stability of supply and energy security in the country.
