🔺 Financial Times: Trump is ready to impose new tariffs on dozens of countries

▪The Financial Times reported that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, is prepared to impose new tariffs on dozens of countries, and these tariffs could be applied this week, at the same time as the deadline for the temporary global 10% tariff expires on Friday.

▪Based on this report, the new tariffs would in the first step be at the same level as the current 10%, but the U.S. government is working on other investigations that could provide a legal basis for higher tariffs.

▪In this regard, on Monday, Trump imposed a 50% tariff on much of Canada’s goods and said the country has treated American cars, alcohol, and dairy products unfairly by discriminating against them.
