Fatemeh Moghajerani, spokesperson for the Government of the Islamic Republic, said the third-tier gasoline rate will increase to 10,000 tomans per liter from the early hours of September 17.

According to Moghajerani, different figures had been discussed in expert meetings, but considering the pledge by Masoud Pezeshkian, head of the Government of the Islamic Republic, the rate of 10,000 tomans was set.

The monthly ration of 60 liters of gasoline at a rate of 1,500 tomans per liter and 50 liters at a rate of 3,000 tomans will remain unchanged.

Moghajerani said the revenue obtained from the increase in the third-tier gasoline rate will be spent on people’s livelihoods
