Ellen Burstyn, the 93-year-old American actress and Oscar winner, received the honorary Golden Lion for a lifetime of artistic achievement at the eighty-third Venice Film Festival.

In her speech, she pointed to changes in women’s position in the film industry and expressed hope that women’s presence in this field will become more prominent.
