🔺Dollar retreats to the 206,000 toman channel after recording a 230,000 toman high
▪The price of the dollar in Iran’s free market, after crossing the 230,000 toman threshold, has returned to the 226,000 toman channel.
▪According to a report by Eqtesad24, the dollar exchange rate this Sunday morning was 226,105 tomans. Gold and currency information websites had previously reported a jump in the dollar price to above 230,000 tomans for a few hours. The price of the dollar then retreated with a relatively steep slope. Eqtesadnews attributed this drop to the Central Bank’s entry into the market, and wrote that the bank is seeking to attract liquidity into the market.
▪The dollar remittance (draft) at the Iran Currency and Gold Exchange Center was also announced as 160,983 tomans, creating a gap of more than 65,000 tomans with the free market.
