The coalition led by Saudi Arabia in Yemen announced the air defense of the coalition, saying it intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the Houthis that intended to enter the airspace of Mecca.

According to Reuters, Khalid al-Maliki, the coalition’s spokesperson, said in a statement that this was the second attempt by the Houthis to target Mecca.

The coalition said that before this, about nine years earlier, a ballistic missile was also fired toward Mecca.
