🔸Axios, citing U.S. government officials, says that the U.S. Army, in a new round of attacks on Iran, on Tuesday for the first time used a long-range “B-1” bomber to attack targets belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
🔸In Axios’s report, it is not specified what target in Iran the bomber attacked. Iranian officials have not yet given any explanation about this.
🔸Axios says that the bomber used in this strike had taken off from an air base in Britain.
🔸During the 40-day war, the United States used “B-1” bombers several times and targeted missile bases, command centers, weapons storage facilities, and air defense systems in Iran.
🔸“B-1” bombers can fly at low altitude at speeds faster than the speed of sound and, among all types of bombers, carry the largest bomb payload.
🔸Axios says that the use of these bombers indicates a significant escalation in this round of America’s attacks on Iran.
U.S. official sources have not publicly rejected or confirmed the report.
