Atha Hosseinian, an economic and energy journalist, said about disagreements within the Islamic Republic’s government over raising the price of gasoline: “With the intensification of the gasoline crisis, the government has no choice but to change the price and introduce rationing; however, officials, due to their awareness of the social and political consequences of this decision, are not willing to accept responsibility for it and the costs arising from it.”
