Amir Hamidi, a national security expert, told Iran International that Washington is pursuing a dual but clear strategy; on the one hand, it keeps the track of diplomacy open, and on the other hand, it accompanies violations of understandings with a military response.

He added that the United States may negotiate with the Islamic Republic, but it will not go under pressure from threats and economic hostage-taking.
