The UAE Ministry of Defense said that in the missile attack by the Islamic Republic on two UAE oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, one Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured, four of whom are in critical condition.
According to the ministry, the Mombasa and Al Bahie oil tankers were targeted by two cruise missiles in the early hours of Tuesday as they traveled south of the Strait of Hormuz and in Oman’s territorial waters. Six of the injured are Indian nationals and two are Ukrainian nationals. The attack caused a fire on both tankers and material damage, and the fires have been brought under control.
The UAE said it reserves the right to respond.
At the same time, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had disabled the two “noncompliant” supertankers.
