The final stage of the funeral and burial ceremony of Ali Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Republic, began in Mashhad on Thursday, 18 Tir 1405. Government media reported that the aircraft carrying his coffin and members of his family entered the skies of Iran from Iraq with escort by fighter jets of the army air force and was accompanied as far as Mashhad.
