The dollar price in the free market rose again, reaching between 182,800 and 183,900 tomans in various pricing venues, which is the highest level from May 13 to today.
According to reports by gold and currency information websites, the dollar was traded on Monday at around 180,000 tomans. An increase in precautionary demand after the resumption of clashes between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States has again strengthened inflation expectations and concerns about disruptions to the supply of foreign currency.
The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange, as of the time this report was prepared, had also fallen by more than 74,000 points, indicating that the downward trend of recent days continues. The loss of the five-million-point channel and the continued outflow of real capital show that traders’ confidence remains vulnerable.
