Shipping data shows that after the Islamic Republic’s latest round of attacks on ships and the second consecutive day of the United States’ attack on military targets in southern Iran, maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has nearly stopped.
Bloomberg news agency writes that among the larger vessels, only one large oil tanker under U.S. sanctions and one cargo ship with the flag of the Islamic Republic are seen moving from the Persian Gulf toward international waters.
According to this report, yesterday about 14 cargo ships passed through the strait from both directions, the lowest figure since the signing of the U.S.-Islamic Republic ceasefire understanding on June 16.
Since the ceasefire, an average of 34 ships have transited the strait per day.
