🔸Reuters, citing two senior Iranian sources and three individuals familiar with the matter, says the Iranian government, using a mechanism similar to barter and bypassing sanctions, is bringing billions of dollars worth of goods, including military equipment, from China.

🔸In the report, published on Thursday, 19 Shahrivar, sources whose names were not disclosed said that under this covert trade mechanism, Iran’s oil in exchange for credit for imports from China in recent years has provided a vital financial lifeline for Tehran amid increasing economic and military pressures from the United States.

🔸They said the mechanism has also helped China, the world’s largest importer of crude oil, gain access to discounted Iranian oil.

🔸As Reuters wrote, and citing sources it spoke with, Iran has also used this mechanism to buy medicine, vehicles, and communications equipment from China.
