Reuters reports that Britain, the United States and the Netherlands have warned about the “Chuzn Break” spyware, which is linked to the Islamic Republic and is used to target opponents, activists and journalists. The malware can steal emails and messages, and gain access to social networks, the device’s microphone and display.

Mehdi Sarimefar, a science and technology journalist, referring to the capabilities of “Chuzn Break,” said that after installation the malware can read and modify files, capture images from the display, and activate the microphone. He added that this operation has targeted not only Iranian civil society activists, but also research, military and technology institutions.
